Tourism In Nepal
The province where wonder prevails gets the first rays of sunlight, has been providing the rays of the best hospitality. This province has been one of the best destinations for the tourists nationally and internationally. Because of the rich diversity ranging from landscape, culture, history, flora & fauna, terai, hill & mountains and the greenery has been the best place for the attraction of the tourist. Our province is a dwelling place for people of different caste and ethnicities making it an amalgamation of diverse culture and language ranging from Sherpa, Gurung residing in Himalayan region, Rai, Limbu, Bahun Chettri in Hilly region and Tharu, Rajbanshi, Dhimal along with other castes residing in Terai region creating the unity in diversty. Our province has been attraction for tourist having wide range of the motivation from sports, cultural & religious, health, education, adventure, vacation & leisure tourist. Different religious places Budasubba, Dantakali, Pindeswari, Haleshi, Pathibhara, Chintang, Mainamaini, Bijayapur, Siddhakali have also contributed to maintain goodwill among the tourist.
Out of the worlds 10 highest peak 8 of them are in Nepal and out of those 4 of the lies in Koshi province along with the highest peak of the world Mt. Sagarmatha lies in this region. The mountain peaks are seemed to be arranged like Nepali topi. The lowest valley of the world Arun valley also lies in this province which is the home of many endangered birds, butterflies and animals with an altitude of about 457 meters above sea level with wetlands which is a habitat of many aquatic and endangered animals and plants, also helped in contributing to balance in the ecosystem. The region alone has 32 varieties of laliguras found in TMJ (Tinjure, Milke, Jaljale) region. The lowest place Kechana kawal elevated at height of 70 meters from sea level and is also a place of dwelling of indigenous people of this area (Satar & Rajbanshi). One of the oldest shrines mentioned even in Mahabharata and Skanda Purana known as Barahachhetra is the pilgrimage site for Hindus and Kirat religions. The province is also rich in its historic places like Birat Durbar, Birat Pond, Arjundhara, Kichakbadh are also mentioned in holy books Ramayan etc.
The province is also rich in the trial routes among national and international tourists. The local as well as the provincial government as well as the community can take the direct as well as the indirect benefit from it. It will also help in creating positive environment between the government and the private sectors to invest and promote the destinations and invest on the services and facilities of the Trial routes identified which will also help in the success of the Koshi Tourism Year- 2082. The trial routes include :
1.Tea Garden Trial Route
2.Falgunanda Trial Route
3.Laligurans Trial Route
4.Mundum Trial Route
Thus, the steps taken for the tourism shall be developing and promoting all the newly identified touristic destinations and the prevailed destinations creating an employment opportunity helping overall economic development of the province and the citizens.
